Archos are a French company established in 1988. They manufacture portable media players and data storage devices and have developed a variety of products including digital audio players, portable video players, digital video recorders, netbooks and tablet computers using Google android and Microsoft Windows (tablet PC’s).

One of these is the Archos 70 Internet tablet that has a slim and light design thanks to their patented process of plastic over moulding. This makes them the thinnest and lightest around with the Archos 70 Internet tablet weighing 300 g and is 10 mm thick. It comes with a full pack of connected Android apps such as a web browser and e-mail application. The five home screens of the Android interface allows for user personalisation where they can, delete, move and place apps where desired. You can display everything on your Archos 70 screen on a TV with its TV output allowing you to control everything from your couch.

The Archos 70 internet tablet has Samba and UPnP protocols that means it can play movies, videos and photos that are located on a computer in a room. If you need to connect to the Internet on the go you can use your mobile phones Internet connection to tether to the Archos 70 Internet tablet. You can easily connect accessories to the Archos 70 internet tablet for example you can connect a USB keyboard or Bluetooth to turn it into a real PC. You can also connect it to a larger computer screen easily by using the HDMI port.

It has a wide 7 inch high-resolution touchscreen and thus guarantees an unequalled comfort of view for movies and TV shows in HD quality. It supports all music formats and has a new music application with 3-D cover animation and the ability to add a mini music widget to the home screen so you can control your music at any time. With the Archos 70 Internet tablet you are also able to install an alternative operating system allowing users to install or even replace the Android system installed on the device.

Archos have recently released two new tablets called the G9 Archos Internet tablet. There is the Archos 101 G9 and the Archos 80 G9 Internet tablet. They run the Andriod 3.2 honeycomb operating system specially designed for tablets. It gives a full web browsing experience for on the go web browsing with Adobe Flash support for a true web experience. There is a choice of flash storage or 250 GB hard drive versions. Obviously the 250 GB hard drive version gives a lot of space for media and up storage but also has an intelligent caching system making it feel as fast and responsive as the flash version.

You won’t have to choose between a Wi-Fi and 3G tablet on the G9 Archos internet tablet as they all come 3G ready where you can use the Archos 3G stick or your own mobile Internet. The G9 Archos internet tablet supports a powerful OMAP 4 dual core processor at up to 1.5 GHz. They all come with tailor-made video and music apps that give full HD video as well as other features like full-screen mirroring and streaming media over a home Wi-Fi network.
